Arlie Schrawyer, the son of Reeta (Loos) and Virgil Schrawyer, was born October 30, 1919 in Smith County, Kansas. He departed this life on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Franklin, Nebraska.

Arlie started farming with his step-father, Bernard Smith, at the age of 15 just across the state line in Smith County, Kansas. On January 14, 1939 he was united in marriage with Odessa Brachear at Phillipsburg, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons, Keith and Dean. They continued to make their home on the farm. In 1949, he was presented with a Conservation Award and again in 1952, for outstanding achievement in corn production with the highest yield in Frankilin county by the Pfister Hybrids Company.

Arlie enjoyed farming and raising stock cattle. He took great pride in feeding out cattle which he did until his health failed in 1974. At that time they moved into
Riverton to make their home. In 1982, they moved to Red Cloud to be closer to his grandchildren, which he dearly loved and enjoyed. In later years he enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Odessa, on September 28, 2007; his step-father; a step-brother, Ardith Smith; and great grandsons, Glen and Gage Schrawyer.

Left to treasure his memory are his sons, Keith and wife MaryAnn of Red Cloud and Dean of Bellevue, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., August 7, 2012 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Marshall Faulkenberry officiating. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin.
