Clara M. (Moore) Devitt

Clara M. Devitt the daughter of Jay and Dora (Roth) Moore was born April 25, 1926 near Deweese, Nebraska. She departed this life on Sunday June 28, 2015 at the Mary Lanning Health Services in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 89 years.
Clara attended Nelson High School and after was united in marriage to Donald O. Devitt on December 22, 1944 at Mankato, KS. Clara and Don resided in Deweese until moving to the Edgar community in 1954. This union was blessed with the birth of three children: two sons and a daughter.
Clara was involved with sales of some kind nearly her entire life. She sold Avon as well as Stanley Home Products before starting a long career with AFLAC insurance, which she sold for over 25 years and served in a management position with them.
In her spare time Clara enjoyed working in her flower garden, being in the out-of-doors whether it was fishing or hunting with her husband Don. Clara always enjoyed driving and traveling to different places. Clara also found great pleasure in spending time with her family visiting and cooking meals for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Don on February 20, 2013; brother Willard Moore and sister Dorothy Cave.
Survivors include her sons: Duane Devitt of Hastings, NE; Ron Devitt of Heartwell, NE; daughter Janet Griffith and husband Steve of Shawnee, KS; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held Thursday 2:00 PM, July 2, 2015 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar with Pastor David King officiating. Inurnment was in the Edgar Cemetery.
