Connie Cornett

Red Cloud, Nebraska

Connie Ann Cornett age 73 of Guide Rock, Nebraska, passed away in her home on August 22, 2026. She was born in Montezuma, Kansas to Robert and Hazel (Reinert) Cornett.
Connie was raised in Hugoton, Kansas where she attended and graduated with the class of 1970. Following high school, she continued her education at Dodge City Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree.
Connie was united in marriage to David Moser, and together they were blessed with three children, Sharlie, Benni, and Alex. The couple later divorced. Throughout the years, Connie lived in various communities across Kansas, always making sure to remain close to her children. She worked several jobs including being a busy homemaker and a County Clerk until her retiring age of 60.
After retirement, Connie eventually settled in Guide Rock, Nebraska, which she would call home for the remainder of her life.
Connie had a personality all her own. She enjoyed reading and watching television and cherished the simple comforts of home. She had a tremendous love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and it was not unusual for her to welcome a stray into her home and heart. Her gentle and caring nature could be seen in the way she cared for animals that found their way to her.
Connie could be described as an “introverted extrovert.” She enjoyed her time alone and was perfectly content in her own company, but whenever she was out, she never knew a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Her quirky, ornery sense of humor was one of the things that made her uniquely Connie, balanced by a gentle heart and genuine care for those around her.
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Connie loved keeping up with their lives, even when that meant staying connected through phone calls. She took pride in hearing about what they were up to and being involved in their lives in whatever way she could.
Connie will be remembered for her independent spirit, her sense of humor, love of animals, and big heart she carried quietly with her. She found joy in everyday moments, cared deeply for her family, and left her own unmistakable mark on the lives of those who knew her.
She is survived by her children: John Kinter (Olga) of Charlotte NC, Sharlie (Ernie) Hansen of Rapidan, MN, Benni Coulter of Twin Falls, ID, Alex Moser (Shonda) of Burr Oak, KS; brother, Richard (Margaret) Cornett of Portsmouth, NH; grandchildren, Bryant Kinter, Andrew Kinter, Dylan Kinter, Grayson Coulter, Madison Coulter, Max Coulter, Reid Hansen, Lexi Hansen, Brock Hansen, Cale Hansen, and Tinsley Moser.
