Rev. Frank M. Alexander

Frank McDonald Alexander, the youngest of five children, was born on February 27, 1927, in Peacock, MI to Clyde and Nora (Storment) Alexander. The family resided in the Flint, MI area and Frank attended school there. At the age of 17 he enrolled at Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO to begin training for pastoral ministry. While there, he met Doris Jean (Jeanie) Sigler. WW II continued on at that time so he put his studies on hold and enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Bairoko Bay until the war ended. During the time that he was aboard ship, Jeanie moved to Detroit, MI and began working for the war effort, in the factory helping build B-52 bombers. She was "Rosie the Riveter" during the remainder of WW II.

When Frank was honorably discharged from the Navy at the conclusion of the war, he and Jeanie were married in Pittsfield, IL, her hometown on August 18, 1946. To this union, their oldest son, James was born in 1947 and four and one half years later in 1951, Mark was born. During those years, Frank worked at local businesses in Pittsfield and returned to Bible School, attending both Zion Bible Institute and Penile Bible Institute.

Frank and Jeanie pastored their first church in Camden, IL and over the next 58 years, they pastored churches in CO, MI, NE, MT and KS. In April, 2008, Frank and Jeanie were honored by the General Council of the Assemblies of God for 50 years of ordained ministry. Early in 2013, Frank, at the age of 86 retired from full-time ministry.

He was a hard-working man, and in addition to being an Assemblies of God pastor, Frank also served as a county judge in Kiowa County, CO. He was also a builder and a painter. He built houses in many of the communities where they pastored and he loved to design and build unique plans, the Barn style being one of his favorites. One of his dreams was to own and operate a restaurant. In Riverton, NE, he built that restaurant and named it Ole McDonalds. It was a meeting place for area farmers and friends to enjoy a home-cooked meal.

Frank and Jeanie loved to travel and had many opportunities to visit special places in the United States and also traveled to the UK and twice to South Africa to visit their son Mark and family.

Frank M. Alexander passed away in Hays, KS on August 1, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Roy and sisters, Gladys, Dolly and Grace. Surviving him is his wife of nearly 67 years, Jeanie. Also surviving is their son Jim and wife Esther, grandchildren Crystal and Frank all of Russell, KS and great granddaughters, McKenna and Lauryn.
