Kay Louise Nichols

Kay Louise Nichols, 69, of Red Cloud departed this life on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud.

Kay Nichols, the biological daughter of Al and Edith Tarbox, the adopted daughter of Morris and Helen Larson, was born July 27, 1942, in Olean NY. She departed this life on Saturday, July 21, 2012, she was staying at the Heritage Nursing Care Center in Red Cloud, NE. She was 69 years old.

Kay spent her childhood years in Pennsylvania and New York. She received her formal education from Bemus Point High School. On June 28th, 1957 she was united in marriage with Raymond Charles Nichols, in Jamestown , NY. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, Ginger, Raymond M., and Myron C. "Mickey" Nichols.

Kay was a homemaker until her children were in their late teen years. Although, where she could help with the family finances she did. Kay worked in retail positions, for a few years. When Kay and her husband moved to Colorado in 1976, she went to work at CDI as an employment recruiter. After several years, Kay opened her own Employment Recruiting Business, which was very successful. Kay and her husband Ray loved to travel, either visiting family, to the Bahama's, or throughout the United States, and Canada.

Between Kay's health and her husband Ray's health, they had to take a medical retirement. They retired in 1995, and moved to Red Cloud, to make it their home.
Kay loved reading, playing games on her computer, and traveling. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt, friend, and neighbor.

Preceding her in death were her husband Raymond C. Nichols, parents Morris G. Larson and Helen C. Larson, her biological sister Jill, and her brother David, and her great granddaughter Kallie Rankin.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Ginger Himelein and her husband Gordon from Littleton, CO; her two sons, Raymond M. Nichols, of Denver, CO, and Myron(Mickey) C. Nichols of Red Cloud, NE. Her 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her sister Ruth Morales, her sister Marjorie Dalrymple, her sister Barbara Carlson, her brother William Robertson, her step-brother Norman Anderson, her step-sister Mary Lou Giles; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., July 27, 2012 at the Williams Funeral Home chapel in Red Cloud with the Rev. Joel Rathbun officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Friday 9:00 a.m. to service time.
