Mark C. Mans

Mark Clemet Mans, age 61, with his loving heart and big smile was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on July 16, 1962, to Leo and Susan (Kohn) Mans. He departed this earth January 22, 2024 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Mark grew up in Inavale, NE working on the family farm with his dad. He graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1981. After high school, Mark moved to Osborne, KS and joined the Army National Guard where he served 6 years as a reservist. Mark was married to Sharon (VanWey) and blessed with two daughters Ashley (Todd) Dannenberg and Nichole (Antionio) Taylor. He was a loving and proud father and grandfather to Addison, Chase, & Briggs Dannenberg and Joy & Kasen Taylor. Mark met Tammy Sweet in 2008. They dated for 16 years and he had the pleasure of helping raise daughters Amber, Angie, and Billie. During Mark's health struggles, Tammy was right by his side.

Mark was a hard worker. He spent many years working for the City of Osborne and City of Russell in the Water Department. He also served as an Osborne Volunteer Firefighter. His real passion and enjoyment came from working on cars, listening to music, and spending quality time with his family and friends. For many years, he was part of The Hole in the Wall Gang Car Club. Mark was proud to show off his cars and trophies. If you were a friend of Mark's, he welcomed you into his garage for a conversation and cold beer.

Mark is survived by his daughters, step-daughters, girlfriend, brothers Walt (Jean) Mans, Roger (Kay) Mans, David (Linda) Mans, sister Victoria Dickinson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Ralph Dickinson and nephew Todd Mans. Mark will be greatly missed by many.

The rosary was recited Friday, 7:00 pm, February 2, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Cloud.
The Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, 11:00 am, February 3, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Paul Frank officiating.
