Paul Leslie

Paul LeRoy Leslie the oldest of four children born to Ira Bert and Velma Irene (Bruce) Leslie was born May 13, 1924 in Orange County, CA. He departed this life on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 85 years.

As a young child Paul returned to Oklahoma in 1925 with his family. Later they lived in Hutchinson, KS before moving to Superior, Nebraska in 1941. Paul graduated from Superior High School in 1942. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Paul served his country with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. During the war Paul attended the Citadel.

Upon being honorably discharged from the service Paul came to Superior, NE where he owned and operated Leslie TV and Electric and the Leslie Hotel and cafe. On September 20, 1959 Paul was united in marriage to Lois Grummert at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior. This union was blessed with the birth of one son David. Paul had been very active in the Superior community her was past president of the Kiwanis, served two terms as the Mayor of the City of Superior. He had built of the first TV's in Superior in the 1940's and had one of the first computers in Superior. Paul was an avid flyer having his private pilot's license and owning and operating his own plane.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Earl and sister Ruth Kuta.

Survivors include his wife Lois of Superior, NE; son David Leslie of Omaha, NE; sister Doris Jones of Nelson, NE other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday 10:30 AM, April 14, 2010 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, NE. Rev. Brian S. Earl will be officiating.
