Red Cloud, Nebraska
Paul Lavon Thee the oldest of four sons, of Paul R. and Yetta M. (Willer) Thee was born September 16, 1933 at St. Aubert, Missouri, and went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, on March 18, 2015 at Heritage Care Center, Red Cloud, Nebraska. Both his parents were waiting for his arrival, with Open Arms, we have no doubt!
Lavon lived with his parents, on a farm near Chamois, Missouri, until his parents retired and moved the family to Red Cloud, Nebraska, in 1978. He loved helping his dad, with farm chores and driving the tractors pulling grain and hay wagons from the fields, until the effects of his disability began to cripple his legs, making it impossible to climb onto the tractors. Later he was confined to a wheelchair, where he remained for the rest of his life.
In 1979 Lavon entered Heritage of Red Cloud. He quickly endeared himself to the staff, residents and visitors to the home, with his gentle, loving nature, and his infectious big smile, which he was always quick to offer. He loved being around people, and attending church services, at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, Red Cloud, where he was a member, as long as he was able, as well as the services held at Heritage. Lavon seldom if ever forgot a name, face or a place. Once he had been to a location he had the uncanny ability to give directions directly back to that spot, even years later.
Lavon was preceded in death by both of his parents, several aunts and uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by one aunt, June Dyke of Jefferson City, MO; three brothers, Kenneth W. (Mary) Thee of St. Joseph, MO, Francis C. (Mary) Thee of Kirkland, WA, and R. Douglas (Diane) Thee of St. Joseph, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were 1:00pm on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Williams Funeral Home, Red Cloud with the Rev. Kenneth Thee and Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Burial was at the Red Cloud Cemetery.
