Veva Marguerite Schriever

Veva Marguerite (Irwin) Schriever was born January 17, 1916 at Superior, Nebraska the daughter of Frank Reuben and Verna Valentine (Eoggett) Irwin. She departed this life on Monday May 2, 2011 in Manhattan, Kansas at the age of 95 years.

Veva was one of four children , a brother died at birth and her older sister Villa passed away at the age of 11. Veva's father died when she was 16 and because times were hard, Veva held many different jobs to help support her mother and little sister Fran.

Veva attended business college in Hastings, NE and then taught school before marrying William Schriever on Christmas Day in 1941 at the Salem Lutheran Church north of Superior, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children: Lee, James, Kathe and Susan.

Veva was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and served faithfully in many positions throughout the years. Veva was always motivated by new hobbies and challenges. She was an excellent seamstress, took up painting and macrami
